"Join us on 14th December 2024 for the second
PLETT TOYS FOR JOY RIDE!"

ABOUT THE PLETT TOYS FOR JOY RIDE

The main objective of the event is to raise funds and collect toys for the underprivileged children as well as petfood for charitable institutions in and around Plettenberg Bay.

We are appealing to and calling upon all “bikers” (the event is open to all types of motorcycles, street bikes, adventure bikes, dirt bikes, Enduro bikes, scooters, delivery bikes, etc.) in and around Plettenberg Bay to rally together, join and show their solidarity and support for this worthy cause.Every year, tens of thousands of bikers across the globe, including South Africa, rally together to give joy to the underprivileged children of South Africa. Thousands of toys are strapped to bikes and paraded through our cities. The time has arrived for Plett to join in on this global initiative and for the local “bikers” to showcase their commitment to contributing to this worthy cause. This event is created to bring together the public and more specifically the “biker” community in aid of two charitable causes, namely underprivileged children and rescued animals.

For many of us, the holiday season is a time of joy and celebration with our loved ones. However, for some families, and more in particular those children with no families, it can be a difficult time, especially when they are struggling financially. This is where “PLETT TOYS FOR JOY RIDE” steps in. By donating toys, petfood and funds, we can help bring a little bit of happiness, joy and cheer to the children and animals who need it most during this festive season.

It will be required of all bikers who partake in the event to bring along and donate either a soft toy/toy and/or a can/bag of any pet food and/or make a financial donation which will then in turn be distributed to the selected charitable organisations. Although the “PLETT TOYS FOR JOY RIDE” is a charitable event and an opportunity to give back to the community, it is also a great opportunity for the local biking community to rally together and share their love for everything “motorbikes”, meet with like-minded bikers and make memorable memories and at the same time, ALL FOR A GOOD CAUSE!

Given the fact that the selected date coincides with the public holiday in celebration of sport in South Africa and more in particular, celebrating the victory of the Springboks in the recent Rugby World Cup, and not forgetting our very own #33 Brad Binder’s spectacular season, participants in the event are encouraged to dress up in Green and Gold and fly our national flag in celebration of our sporting victories. We even anticipate some of Brad’s “SIXTY SIXTY” team mates to join the ride.

EVENT DETAILS

All bikers will gather in the parking lot at Checkers, Plettenberg Bay Mall between 09h15 and 10h00 whereafter the mass convoy of bikers, led by a Bitou traffic vehicle, will depart at 10h00 and follow the designated route to the parking lot at Central Beach. Here the toys, petfood and collected funds will be handed over to the selected charities. Once the formalities have been concluded, the convoy will then, once again under guidance of the traffic vehicle, proceed back to the parking area at Checkers, whereafter the bikers will disperse.

ROUTE DETAILS

All participants will gather and depart from the parking area of Checkers, Plettenberg Bay Mall by going left onto Beacon Way which then leads onto Main Street.

The motorcycle procession will follow a circular route totalling approximately 10 kilometres and stopping over at Central Beach where the toys and pet food will be handed over to the charities involved. This will also be an opportunity for members of the public to partake in the activities by joining the procession at Central Beach and making a donation and/or just admiring the motorcycles.

Once the formalities at Central Beach parking area have been concluded, the procession will move back to the Checkers parking area following the route in the opposite direction (completing the circle).
